The UN FAO has estimated that if women were given the same access to resources as men, there would be 100-150 million fewer hungry people in the world.
We know that female smallholder farmers are some of the poorest people in the world, and we work with many inspiring women in rural regions that are determined to turn this around.
However, without access to the same training and finance as men, female farmers generate less profits. How will they afford quality seed and fertiliser? How will they learn the best techniques to farm efficiently for themselves and for the planet?
People are facing starvation as you read this. We know that investing in female farmers will lead to a more food secure future for everyone, so there’s no time to waste.
