From 4 May to 30 June, a generous donor, who has seen our work firsthand, will match every donation to MicroLoan Foundation. This means your gift will go twice as far, doubling your impact for women working their way out of poverty.
Not long ago, Dorothy struggled to feed her children. School fees were out of reach. Opportunities felt impossible.
But with a small loan and training from MicroLoan Foundation, she started selling cabbages in her local market.
Now Dorothy’s children are back in school and her family no longer goes hungry.
She has built a stable home and can plan for the future. “Now I feel good because I can achieve so much more than I could in the past” she says.
Your support makes this possible.
In 2023 Rejoice opened her own hardware store in Chiweche, about 90km from Harare.
But she needed access to finance to grow her business, so she joined MicroLoan Foundation’s first centre in the area.
She used her first loan to invest in stock and has since doubled her weekly profits.
Rejoice’s business now provides a more stable income, allowing her to better support her four-year-old daughter and cover essential household needs.
Your donation will help us support more women to provide for their families.
After being widowed and later losing both her sisters, Edwick took on the responsibility of supporting her niece and nephew.
She joined MicroLoan Foundation as one of the first members in her community, using small loans to grow her tailoring business and later diversify into baking. This has helped her double her income.
Along the way, Edwick’s developed strong financial skills and now serves as Treasurer of her centre.
And she’s now working towards opening a small grocery shop to strengthen her income even further.
Your donation could help Edwick open that shop sooner.
Majori, a farmer and mother of six from Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia, has been building her income through agriculture and small trading since joining MicroLoan Foundation.
2024 was a hard year for Majori. A severe drought damaged her maize and groundnut crops and food security became a serious challenge for her household. Recognising the hardship caused by the drought, we were able to adjust her loan repayments, giving her the flexibility to support her household and keep her sons in college.
By diversifying her business and reinvesting in her farm, Majori has remained resilient and with improved rains this season, her harvest is recovering.
Majori so appreciates the support she has received. “I am impressed by MicroLoan and wish that it shall never end. MicroLoan is boosting our lives. Without MicroLoan, we would not afford many things,” she says.
Please donate today and help more women build resilient businesses.
Dorothy, Edwick, Rejoice and Majori are just a few of the 575,000 women who have taken the opportunity to build a business with support from MicroLoan Foundation.
We’d love to be able to offer our life-changing services to even more women. But we can only do it with the generosity of people like you.
Just A$22 provides a woman with financial literacy training. Her first step in building a reliable income to support her family.
A$116 gives a woman a startup loan to launch her small business.
A$312 supports one woman with loans and training for a full year.
A$1,102 delivers business training to a centre of 50 women.
A$9,419 funds a Loan & Training Officer to support 300 women for an entire year.
And right now your donation will go even further.
