Malawi Emergency Appeal

Over 500 lives lost and many others injured or missing. People in Malawi need your immediate help to recover from the destruction of Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

The cyclone, flooding and mudslides have led Malawi to declare a state of disaster.

The country is already battling the worst Cholera outbreak in its recorded history. Floodwaters could cause damage to health facilities and increase the spread of the disease. The cyclone is creating additional life-threatening challenges to those who are already facing hunger and extreme poverty.

In the aftermath of this natural disaster the only hope for families to survive is to salvage their livelihoods.

The devastating impacts of this disaster will propel the women we work with into even deeper poverty.

Farming and food production are the main sources of income for our clients and their agricultural businesses ensure entire villages have access to food. Without the resources to rebuild after the cyclone’s destruction, families will starve.

What can you do to help?
