PALADIN ENERGY Ltd is a uranium production company with projects currently in Australia and two operating mines in Africa (one in Malawi) with a strategy to become a major uranium mining house.

Paladin (Africa) Ltd is a member of the Paladin Energy Ltd group of companies and is the corporate entity that holds the group’s interest in the Kayelekera Mine. The Malawi Government holds a 15% shareholding in this company.

The Kayelekera Mine is located in northern Malawi, 52km west of the provincial town of Karonga and 575km north of the capital city, Lilongwe.

Paladin involvement with MicroLoan Foundation Australia

Paladin made a Gift in 2013 to boost our Malawi loan funds and contribute to our administration costs in Malawi.

Paladin on Business Training in Northern Malawi

MicroLoan Foundation Australia was employed by Paladin in 2013 to run a business training program in Ngalamo and Macatavo in northern Malawi on their behalf. This was a hugely successful event which was reported as follows:

‘The course went on well from first to last day. The trainees were eager to learn and participated very well.’

As this training was conducted on behalf of Paladin, both men and women participated.

The fees from Paladin went into the Microloan Foundation Australian account to continue to build our training elsewhere.

The company also provided Gifts toward our Malawi loan book in late 2012.

Simon Tedeschi is quite often described by respected critics and musical peers as one of the finest artists in the world making the young pianist’s mark on music both undeniable and admirable. Renowned especially for championing non standard repertoire, Tedeschi enjoys a full international performing career.

Charitable performances and commitment to worthwhile causes has been most prominent in Tedeschi’s career.

We are proud to have Simon as our Patron.

We are especially proud of the fundraising concerts in 2011 and 2012 where Simon, with his jazz friend Kevin Hunt, performed for the benefit of MicroLoan Foundation Australia.

And we have to thank Hutchings Pianos for providing the amazing pianos for each of the benefit concerts performed by Simon and Kevin.

Globe is an African-focused resources company, with a strategy to become the major niobium and tantalum producer in southern and eastern Africa.

Globe’s primary focus is the advanced multi-commodity Kanyika Niobium Project in Malawi, which will produce niobium pentoxide and tantalum pentoxide, key additives in high quality steels. A JORC compliant Mineral Resource estimate indicates Kanyika could support a 20 year mine life.

Globe Mining made a Gift sponsorship during our 2010 Simon Tedeschi and Kevin Hunt fund raising concert at James Church in Sydney concert.

Aurecon provides engineering, management and specialist technical services for public and private sector clients globally.

With an office network extending across 26 countries, Aurecon has been involved in projects in over 80 countries across Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas and employs around 7 500 people throughout 11 industry groups. We seek to foster human achievement in all aspects of our work.

Staff in their Darwin office collect and remit monthly Givings to MicroLoan Foundation Australia.

LG Accounting Systems joined our growing list of corporate sponsors in October 2013 with a pledge and has committed to Giving each month for 10 months.

LG Accounting Systems is a youthful company which found, after a little brainstorming, that its staff are passionate about supporting the physical, mental and emotional well-being of youth

So their Global Vision for their business is – to grow the good in youth.

They plan to activate their Global Vision by investing (expertise, time, money and human powers) into small youth focused charitable organisations to help them grow the good they can do in their communities.
